To kick off the Harrods’ Art Partners campaign, Smeg is showcasing its inspired partnership with global fashion icons, Dolce and Gabbana. Our collaboration of unique fridges, alongside other brands, will be exhibited at the famous Knightsbridge department store until the 7th May 2017. Parallel to the exhibition, the glorious Brompton Road windows have also been reimagined with an artistically inspired display showcasing each of the collaborations.
To launch this prestigious initiative, Harrods hosted an exclusive VIP evening event on the 10th April showcasing the beautiful interiors and high profile collaborations involved this year. For this special occasion, we decided to bring the Dolce and Gabbana collaboration to life and invited Gaetano Daniele Di Guardo, one of the Dolce and Gabbana’s Sicilian artists, to join the celebration. Sat beside his very own fridge creation, he painted live throughout the event on a white canvas made from a FAB fridge door. By the end of the evening, another piece of Sicilian art was well on its way to completion.
The Art Partners Initiative goes live just as Smeg launches a new Concession in Harrods department store itself. With over 70 products on display and a team of staff on hand to guide customers through the range, the collaboration with Harrods is only getting stronger.
