For the second consecutive year Smeg wins at the Red Dot Awards. This year was the turn of our 50’s style blender and TR4110 Victoria cooker to receive the praise, getting official approval from the Red Dot Design Awards jury. The jury was made up of international professionals who are all experts in design from different backgrounds. They undertake a thorough evaluation of the intercultural aspects connected with the winning design projects, an approach particularly close to the Smeg philosophy.

The TR4110 cooker was awarded the “Red Dot: Best of the Best” award for its top design quality and ground-breaking design. The 110 cm Victoria aesthetic cooker perfectly captures the essence of classic and timeless design, characterised by a fastidious attention to detail and a passion for warm, retro, family-driven experiences in the home. Details such as the Smeg 50's style logo, chrome knobs and colour variations, enhance the distinctive style that makes every single Smeg cooker stand-out.

The beautiful blender (BLF01) was awarded the Red Dot for high quality design. The popular appliance is an evocative object, synonymous with healthy eating, living and sharing. The design references a not too distant past, the 1950s, that is coming back into fashion in modern homes. This retro style combined with the latest generation technology makes it truly special. Graceful lines and a striking colour palette, are strong features of the design, created by Smeg in close collaboration with Matteo Bazzicalupo and Raffaella Mangiarotti of deepdesign©.

The exposure of the Red Dot Design Awards, the inclusion in the Year Book, the Red Dot App, the presence in the Museum of Essen and the “on tour” initiatives, will be invaluable. They will enable Smeg to tell its design story, enhancing peoples understanding of the passion behind the product’s style, design and technology. This isn’t just present in these two award winning appliances but extends to the entire range available in the Smeg collection. The story continues to unfold and as such, so does the recognition for the brand.
