The second decade of the 2000s certainly represents one of the most fervent in the company's history. The internationalization of the group is now one of the main assets of the strategic proposal. In the course of a few years, the commercial branches grow in number and relevance on the markets and this allows SMEG to consolidate more and more its offer and ability to grasp the evolutions of tastes and needs.

Confirming that the design innovations are able to meet the expectations of the trendsetters, SMEG launched in 2012, in collaboration with Italia Independent, the first refrigerator covered in denim and entirely tailor made. The new FAB28 is a hymn to innovation that surprises, to the most genuine Italian creativity that reinterprets style icons to combine two objects that belong to the life of everyone: the fridge and jeans. 

The following year is the turn of the refrigerator housed in a car bonnet . Collaborating again with Italia Independent, SMEG proposes a completely new object, a product that performs its function under new clothes, a crossover of concepts for the most exclusive environments. 

In 2014 the company faces a new market segment with the launch of a line of small appliances , expression of the best Italian design: beauty, functionality and latest technology . Aesthetically sinuous in their rounded and compact shapes, SMEG small are designed in collaboration with the deepdesign studio the architects Matteo Bazzicalupo and Raffaella Mangiarotti and, in a short time, meet an immediate international success confirmed by the awarding of prestigious prizes such as the iF Design Award, the Red Dot Design Award and the Good Design Award.
