Fruit Crumble Tart

Perfect for dessert lovers, this versatile fruit crumble tart recipe can be customised with any fruit of your choice.

Ingredients

  • Shortcrust pastry – pre-baked
  • 500g fruit of choice
  • 75g caster sugar
  • 100g butter (cold and cubed)
  • 200g plain flour
  • 75g demerara sugar

Method

1. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees using the Circulaire function.
2. Place the fruit of choice for the filling in a Smeg saucepan along with the sugar.
3. Bring to a simmer over a medium to low heat and cook, stirring using a wooden spoon occasionally, until the sugar has dissolved.
4. Meanwhile, place the cold cubed butter and flour into the Smeg Stand Mixer and attach the Beater attachment.
5. Using a low-speed setting allow the butter and flour to rub together to form breadcrumbs. Don’t overmix. Use your fingers to rub the ingredients together if needed. Then, stir through the demerara sugar.
6. Using a spoon, spoon the fruit filling into the pre-baked shortcrust pastry case. Then top with the crumble topping.
7. Bake in the oven for 35 minutes.
