CONTEMPORARY KITCHEN DESIGN, COMBINING PREMIUM APPLIANCES WITH STRIKING INTERIORS

20/02/2019

Use of whites, neutrals and accent colour palates continue to be hugely popular in contemporary kitchen interiors. White helps to amplifying the light which in turn makes a room feel spacious, whilst opting for contrasting darker colour to pair alongside it, such as a dark blues or greens, light or dark greys can offer stunning results.

The kitchen above, designed and fitted by Schofield Interiors features darker cabinets to contrast white surfaces, which when combined with our Linea aesthetic, quickly becomes the key kitchen focal point. Built-in appliances from the range include Smeg compact oven, coffee machine alongside two large capacity single ovens. Linea ovens create beautiful reflection, highlight natural light coming in from the window as well as the brightness of the walls. A co-ordinating hood and hob can also be seen in the island unit.

To further accessorise, you can see our 50’s Retro Style toaster and kettle in black has been used to compliment the dark units and adding the monochrome design.

If you’d prefer to steer clear of contrasting colours and admire the minimal look, why not go all white. Choose a full white fitted kitchen and incorporate a range of appliances which mirror light whilst adding style to your space and let the appliances make your statement. Our Linea aesthetic once again is ideal as it supports the illusion of a brighter and larger space. In this kitchen a built-in compact oven, single oven and warming drawer in Silver glass have been fitted in-column.

A bank of built-in appliances is a popular trend for larger kitchens and when installed in this cube-style configuration, appliances can be concentrated for ease of use and considerable choice and flexibility in cooking functions – be it oven, steam oven, compact microwave etc.

Heroed above is our Classic range; a built-in compact oven, coffee machine and two additional single ovens. The eclipse black glass found on the Classic aesthetic adds a contrasting colour whilst the stainless steel retains light, which work nicely in this modern but more traditional kitchen environment.

Whatever your kitchen style, Smeg has an aesthetic which will not only inspire you but truly enhance your home, check out our aesthetic page to find out more.
