Smeg wrap up another fantastic year of charity fund-raising with Action Medical Research.

2014 has been a huge year for Smeg’s fund-raising efforts in many respect. From the ‘London to Paris’ bike ride which took place in June, to the countless bake sales and dress down days, the Smeg team have done a great job of digging deep and contributing to a fantastic cause. Continuing to support Action Medical Research for this year, and through into 2015, Smeg have so far managed to raise a grand total of £30,000 for the charity.

Smeg’s MD Mike Giddings presented the cheque to Toby Tennant, one of the head fund-raisers from Action Medical Research, last Friday afternoon. However, Toby didn’t come to collect the cheque on his own. He was occupied by none other than Paddington bear! The famous bear’s appearance caused quite a stir at Smeg’s Head Office, with everyone wanting to have a photo taken with him. Smeg were extremely honoured to have Paddington make a trip down to see them, especially as he has been so busy recently. With all his fund-raising and his recent blockbuster film, we don’t know how the little bear manages to fit it all in!

After checking all the fridges for marmalade, Toby and Paddington gratefully received the cheque and posed for a few pictures. As you can see, they were thrilled with the fund-raising results.

With even higher ambitions for 2015, Smeg are gearing up for another fantastic year with action medical research. Watch this space to find out what is going to be in store for the next 12 months!
