SMEG LAUNCHES NEW COFFEE MACHINE IN LONDON

The Italian passion for all things coffee has fueled Smeg to bring its expertise to the table

01/12/2016

We’ve all heard about the Italian love affair with coffee. Although they didn’t invent the bean itself, they created a coffee culture unrivalled anywhere else in the world. The Italian day is defined by coffee rituals: a cappuccino with breakfast, a caffè macchiato as an afternoon pick-me-up, and espresso after dinner. This passion has fuelled Smeg to bring its’s expertise to the coffee table.

This November we launched our new counter-top espresso coffee machine. The ECF01 boasts the same iconic retro styling as other appliances in Smeg’s range, allowing you to mix-and-match your favourites for a chic kitchen set-up. Whether you prefer an espresso, cappuccino, latte or latte macchiato, the ECF01 allows you to create and enjoy your coffee of choice in the comfort of your own home.

To welcome this beautiful new appliance to the family, we launched it to London’s media at the gorgeous Barnyard restaurant in central London. The venue oozed rustic charm and was the perfect backdrop for the stylish, colourful appliances on show. Breakfast was provided for the early morning launch, along with a demo and of course, the smell of excellent coffee filled the air.

Alongside the coffee machine, attendees also got a sneak preview of Smeg’s new Citrus Juicer, due to hit the shelves at the beginning of 2017. This little appliance makes quick work of any type of citrus fruit, whether it be a grapefruit or a lime, extracting all those tasty and healthy juices, funnelling them straight into a glass. The automatic on/off function means juicing starts when there is pressure on the reamer, making the process of extraction easy and effortless.

Both these new appliances are a brilliant addition to the Smeg 50s style breakfast set, which already includes a kettle and two or four slice toaster. For more information about any of the small appliances collection, please visit our website.
