Logo Smeg

Ahead of the first UK tour date the band’s production team were on the lookout for a cool fridge to be used backstage at all of its UK gigs, including the opening night London’s Olympic Stadium. Keen to take part in their ‘No Filter’ tour, Smeg created a unique, one-off fridge featuring the band’s signature yellow & red branding, as well as the distinctive logo of Mick Jagger’s tongue and lips.

Our customised yellow FAB28 retro fridge was positioned in pride of place backstage for production staff, the band and its entourage to enjoy throughout the tour, living the rock and roll lifestyle on tour with the stones. If only our fridge could talk!

The backstage set up also featured a selection of Smeg’s 50’s style blenders and slow juicers, keeping the production team fuelled up on freshly squeezed juice and the band vocal cord’s primed with delicious homemade smoothies.

The Stones performed a set list packed full of classics such as ‘Gimme Shelter, ‘Paint It Black’, ‘Jumpin Jack Flash’, ‘Tumbling Dice’ and ‘Brown Sugar’, entertaining sell-out crowds with some good old fashioned, rock and roll.

On the final night of the tour, at London’s Twickenham Stadium, The Rolling Stones tweeted an image of the fridge to their 3.3 million followers quoting one of their favourite songs, “I’m so hot for her and she’s so cold”. With thousands of likes and endless comments later, it’s clear to see the public are sad that ‘It’s All Over Now’ – well, for a while at least!
